Criteria A: Inventions and Inventors

Criteria A
The new unit we are starting in Technology class is called Inventions and Inventors. The title gives away what the project is. In class, on December 2nd, was the first day of the unit and just like always, the class was introduced to some brief inventions. Mrs. Wilson showed us a couple of BrainPop videos and gave us a start on who were some of the greatest inventors of all time.
Some people think that Benjamin Franklin was one of the 43 presidents of our country, but he is not. He was not the president of the United States of America, but he invented many amazing things that we still use today and one that has inspired 6 billion lives today. He invented bifocals, armonicas, swimming fins, usable battery, and many more. One of his greatest inventions was electricity. He believed that electricity was produced from lighting. One night, he decided to test his theory whether if it was correct or not. He had his 21 year old son assist him in the field while experimenting. Based on his landmark experiment, he invented the first lightning rod. It was built to attract lightning to his house.
Leonardo da Vinci was another remarkable, talented, and skillful inventor of all time. He was an artist and inventor. Some of his paintings describe his numerous inventions. There is the Artillery Park, The Stretching Device for a Barrel Spring, his designs for boat, ornithopter flying machine, flying machine, armoured car, etc. Some of his painting were actually created and invented at the time, as opposed to the others that weren’t.
