Criteria B Paragraph
I chose to be a therapist. This is my proposed profession because I want to help people. I know I will not be able to give away millions of dollars so I thought of something more mental which would help just as much. When I was in middle school, I was going through a lot of hard time at the time, and due to the absence of a school counselor at our school, I had to deal with it myself, which was not the best choice, but it was the only choice. Because I was just a kid, I did not know how to deal with my emotions, and I was constantly getting overruled by them. My mood was changing constantly and no one was able to keep up with it and I always wonder how different things would've turned out if I had a therapist. Some people might misunderstnad therapy and interpret it as just a way of complaining about life and some peoples' responses are "Just get over it," but the thing is, it's not that easy to overcome and obstacle if you're just in 6th or 7th grade. You're just a kid and you need someone to tell you how to deal with the emotions and guide into the right direction. So I want to help the same kds as me.

Overall this unit, was very challenging and interesting, but not in a good way. I have always been the type of person who would just let the life take me to wherever it was going next and decided that life was not worth planning ahead. It is much more interesting if I were to be surprised by every little thing. I have never thought about what I wanted to be when I grew up and it wasn’t in my interest to plan it either. I know some people who are already embracing their future right now by deciding on many different subjects and trying out different community service hours. I usually do not have an answer when someone asks my about my future so this project forced me to get off my butt and do some research and give my future some decent thought. I am good at math but I did not want to be stuck with it for the rest of my life, so I did not know where to start. So I thought, just for this project, I’ll be a therapist. I chose my profession out of panic (for I was running out of time). My career plan didn’t really look like a major decision of my life. There was nothing wrong with it, but the information I provided were very basic. My performance for Investigation was very good, besides the career choosing part. I did all the required researches and I tried as hard as I could to find something which interested me but there weren’t enough jobs in the world. My video consisted of a lot of places and it reflected my different areas of expertise such as how I was on the soccer team, how my painting was in the book, how I am trying to get some singers from our school to sing “We are the world” for our school community.
Since now, I know what it feels like to choose a goal and this unit somehow gives me a warning how difficult life would be out side of school. Once I’m finished with school, it’s over and I’m on my own. It scares me in a way. The career plan gives us a head start of how it would be when we get old. The video is a chance for us to make the best video we can when we are actually applying for college. This video has given me a lot of new ideas and how differently I would do them for next time.

Criterion E
I was very excited about the project because it was something we had never done before. Writing the script was both challenging and fun. I had to struggle to keep it ancient whilst doing in a modern time. I was even more excited that when I came back from ACAMIS, I realized that my script had been chosen to be performed. However, not everyone else liked the unit so we voted it off. I think I was the only enthusiastic one about the whole unit because, of course, my script was chosen. I did not volunteer to do any work such as acting, directing, make up, editing, because my class seems to have it under control. I think that if we have continued on the unit the way it was planned, it might have been a very silly movie and everyone’s not-seriousness was getting us nowhere. I think that another reason why no one liked the unit was because Mrs. Wilson herself did not like it either. When the teacher doesn’t like what she’s teaching, I think it just kills it for the rest of the class so it is good that she cancelled the unit and decided to start fresh.

Criterion B
The couches that the contestants will sit on can be got from the library.
There are no other materials.
Because we chose our topic of the script from the choices on the board, there wasn’t much to choose from. However, I tried to make it work with what I had and I think my script was modern and ancient at the same time.

Career Planning Investigation
My Interest
1. Sleeping
2. Playing football
3. Reading
4. Watching movies
5. Solving math problems
6. Net surfing
7. Discussing books with my class
8. Ballet
9. Listening to music
Why I like these
1. When I was younger, I used to dread going to sleep, but now that I am older and have more homework I am not getting enough sleep and I am tired all the time.
2. I started playing football when I was in 7th grade and I realized that it was the only sport I wasn’t horrible at, but I’m not that great at it either. However, the most important thing is that I enjoy playing it
3. On Friday nights I do not like to go out. I prefer staying in and reading a good book. I am a very independent person so I am not a big fan of crowds or places with massive amounts of people.
4. Next to reading, I love watching movies. Any kind of movies.
5. Since I was in kindergarten, I was always good at math and liked it as well. My mom encouraged me to take math lessons because she saw my ability to do so well in it. I liked being better than everyone else at something.
6. Everybody loves net surfing and doing nothing useful
7. Since I went into 9th grade, I started to enjoy my English classes. I loved sitting in my class with my peers and just discussing what we’ve read.
8. I started to take ballet lessons since I was last year and realized that I loved it when I stopped doing it.
9. Everyone loves listening to music
At school, I like sitting in English class and discuss books. Of course I like lunch and recess. But the lesson I look forward to the most is math class. My ‘passion’ for math is still somewhere there inside my head and that just keeps me going. P.E is the only physical lesson we get in school and I try to make the best of it. It is a chance for us to shake away all the thoughts and writing and reading.
After school in my leisure time, I stay at home and read a book and watch a movie. or of course just listening to music is good too.
