The Iris Show
(Audience on the left of the stage are facing the interviewer and behind the interviewer are 3 chairs. Benedick, Hero, Beatrice, and Claudio are sitting, facing the interviewer. Don Pedro, Ursula, Margaret, and Borachio are sitting in the front row of the audience)
Iris: Hello there. Welcome to The Iris Show. Ladies and gentleman we got special treat for you. Our today’s guests are Signor Benedick, Count Claudio, Lady Hero, and Lady Beatrice. The rule is you have to answer my question truthfully. I will only question you once. Signor Benedick? (motions him to sit next to her) So, Signor Benedick, do inform us on how thy and Lady Beatrice got back together.
Benedick: For Beatrice is the fairest lady I have ever rested my eyes upon, I love her with all my heart. And after Don Pedro and Claudio disclosed her secret about her sensational feelings towards me, I began picking up on her insinuations.
(Beatrice gasps and throws a shocking glare at Don Pedro.
Don Pedro and Claudio fight hard to contain their laughter.)
(Benedick has a confused look on his face.)
I believe the term she used was she loves me with “an enraged affection”.
(Don Pedro and Claudio bust out laughing and
Beatrice springs from her chair)
Beatrice to Don Pedro: I said no such thing. I only declared my love to Benedick for no soul would ever love such lumpish canker-blossom.
Benedick (shocked): Well, I only declared my love to you for no one would ever even dream of loving such a nagging, self-righteous shrew! My love to you is no less nor more than pity.
Iris: Peace, peace. Please, Signor, sit. Lady Beatrice, (motioning her to sit). Now, thank you Signor Benedick, you may resign to your seat now.
(Angrily stomps back to his seat and ignores Beatrice’s gaze)
Our next participant is Claudio. Please, Count Claudio, come hither!
(Audience claps. Claudio sluggishly drags his feet to
the chair next to Iris, looking grumpy.)
So rumor has it that Lady Hero has been yet unfaithful to you. Please, share what proof you have for this accusation.
Claudio: I saw stranger man wooing Hero by the moonlight at her window after the party.
(Hero gasps)
Iris: Hero? You look as if you might have something to say. If so, please, speak.
Hero: I was not in my room tha-
(Margaret springs from her chair)
Margaret: It was I, lady! (with wide eyes)
(The whole audience gasps)
Borachio: Sit down!! (hisses at her whilst pulling her arm down)
Hero (shocked): I beg your pardon?!
Margaret: It was I at your window that night. With, with, Borachio! (points down at Borachio)
(Crowd gasps again, louder)
(Hero swoons)
Borachio: Nonsense!
Margaret: You droning, idle-headed scut! At least have the decency to come forward with it.
Boachio: (glares at Ursula with mad eyes) Yes, it was I who wooed Margaret that night. It was I who accepted my master’s orders and dressed Margaret in Lady Hero’s garments. But it was not I who wanted Lady Hero slandered. It was your bastard brother (points at Don Pedro).
(Crowd starts murmuring)
(Claudio throws himself at Borachio and swears to kill him)
Iris: Gentlemen, please! Stop this at once!
(Benedick and Don Pedro separate them)
I think that’s enough of an answer Count Claudio. You may resign to your seat.
(Claudio sits back down, still glaring at Borachio)
And may I make it clear that this kind of behavior is completely inappropriate and dim-witted? Thank you. Next on our stage I am glad to welcome Lady Beatrice. Please, come hither. Well, Beatrice, as Benedick has said, do you really love Benedick?
Beatrice: I feel nothing but the deepest pity towards him. He says he loves none women, but there’s more to it. Not only he loves none, but none love him. But of course, how? He is an incompetent, selfish haggard and he would’ve died wifeless if it wasn’t for me! Not even that, but I do recall overhearing Hero and Ursula talking about his feelings for me.
(Ursula giggles)
(Benedick’s eyes widen)
But of course, he never came forward with it. He was too much of a coward.
(Benedick rises)
Benedick: Beatrice, you’ve let this go too far! I will not put up with your rubbish anymore!
Beatrice: Thou art a flesh-monger, a fool and a coward. The truth threatens you does it not?
It is true that you were too less of a man to declare your feelings for me, to me, were you not?
Benedick: Lady Lacklove, it is not because I was too less of a man, it is because there was nothing to declare. I never owned any true feelings towards you, never.
Beatrice: Wasn’t it just a while ago you said I was the fairest of them all?
Benedick: I had to-
Beatrice: And how will you defend yourself on this one Benedick? Every single person in here heard you confess your affection towards me. (Crowd cheers) Farewell Signor Benedick. (storms out)
Iris: Are you going to follow her?
Benedick: I follow no lady who disgraces me in public.
Iris: (raises one eyebrow)
Benedick: Farewell, Iris. (hurries after Beatrice) Lady Lacklo- Beatrice!
(Benedick exits, leaving Claudio alone on stage. He sits awkwardly for a moment and slowly gets up and follows Benedick)
(Iris is completely alone on the stage)
Iris: That was our show for tonight ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for staying with us, you were a delight. We’ll see you next time for more scandal. Till then, Iris.
(All exit)

Process
Due to the confusion between Mr, Thompson and Mrs. Wilson, she has divided up the whole class according to their script type. for example, there are groups such as the talk show, gossip crew, and the commercial type. And within our groups, the whole class is stil debating whether we should perform and work on one person's script or manage a way to combine all of them. Uudee refuses to compromise his script with anyone else's, and Reeza's and mine include a similar taste. Mrs. Wilson said that we could all do our individual show, but it would be best if we all were working one topic. The whole class is waiting Mr. Thompson to finish grading our scripts, so we could take a look at whose script has earned the best mark. we might have to vote off some scripts, but I think we'll manage a way to do this. the project altogether is very confusing because the two teachers are talking about two completely different things. For example: Thompson says that he will choose one or two scripts for use to perform, whilst Mrs. Wilson wants to give us a chance to perform everyone's script.
Last class, everyone got together with their group and TRIED to outline and plan their setting. However, because the whole class was more confused than today back then, not everyone got to do as much as they could have if they understood the whole project clearly.
So, overall, the whole class seems to be confused in some way and that is what is causing us to slow down. We haven't even recieved our grades for the scripts yet!
